True Grit/ Baftas & Colin Firth

I tend to always read up on films before I go and see them at the cinema, it's habit more than anything else. Plus it's always good to know who's going to be in it, how many stars its been rated and if there is going to be a queue at the popcorn counter. My info source is usually through Empire or IMBD, I got acquainted with these sites while at college where I studyed Media, nearly 6 years later they haven't proven me wrong so far, then again, saying that, I don't always agree with their crazy star system, There Will be Blood (2008) 5 stars? really...5?) ahem moving on...
I watched the Cohen's version of True Grit last night, and I must say I really enjoyed it. I did have a pet hate for Matt Damon; not sure why, the man just annoyed me lol. Now, however he doesn't seem too bad an actor, maybe it was just a phase I had lol. Jeff Bridges is brilliant as Rooster Cogburn, really funny and caring for Mattie Ross. Overall it was worth the watch, I wonder how well it is going to do at the Baftas?

And speaking of Baftas I am full on hoping that Colin Firth will get best actor, no offense Jeff but you got one last time for Crazy Heart and I'm thinking it's time to let Colin have a go :)To be fair though The King's Speech has done so well in other award ceremonies that I half expect the cast and crew to wipe out all the awards this year. GOD SAVE THE DARCY! (sorry, he will always be Darcy in my mind, I can't help it lol)

Well who will win? we'll all find out a bit later......
